Logging into my Facebook business page the other day, I was given the offer to try Facebook Workplace. Natural curiosity got the better of me and I signed up. It seems to be in direct competition with Slack. At this juncture in my business, my teams are my clients. Said clients are very happy with Asana. So am I.
But as the old cliche goes, “Don’t knock it till you try it!” So I checked it out. Facebook entering the Project Team Management world makes perfect sense to me.

WHY FACEBOOK WORKPLACE IS A GOOD MOVE
- With approximately 1.86 mil users, why not?
- Familiarity – the Facebook platform is probably more recognizable than just about any other project management application.
- Less training – due to the above item.
- Millenials…I will just leave that right there.
- It really has some snazzy functions.
- The availability to also bring in outside consultants helping with a project is brilliant. Though just about every PM app has the same availability. We are still looking at one-stop shopping for your projects and social media!
I set up my page and took some screenshots of it. Below is a slideshow of said screenshots:
Although I do see this as an excellent option, others I have spoken with are not so sure. But of course, that is the norm. Technology changes so very often it is difficult to catch one’s breath. I am a huge Asana fan due to the ability to create a Kanban-like dashboard. That being said, I believe it is possible to use Asana as a task manager and Facebook WP as a Project team board. I am sure we could eventually link them. Of course, that is what I will try next! Ha!
